Learning outcomes

To gain knowledge and understanding of current child abuse issues
To have an understanding of your own and others roles and responsibilities within agencies
To gain an understanding of child protection procedures and other agency responsibilities
To become aware of, and alert to, signs of child abuse
To be confident to make effective enquiries/referrals

Description

To provide an opportunity for participants from various agencies to gain and share knowledge, explore feelings and increase confidence in relation to child protection.

The course is aimed at staff who have previously attended Level 2 Safeguarding training, but no specialist knowledge is required.

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.

Our course covers the following topics:

Introduce self and aims for today
What is abuse?
Recognition and understanding signs and impact of abuse
Values and attitudes
Listening to children
Making enquiries and referrals
Understanding the Child Protection process
Responding to concerns: Inquiries and referrals.
E-safety
Working in partnership
