Learning outcomes

 

  • Understand key legislation related to child abuse and internet use
  • Understand how offenders are using the internet
  • Explore and understand technologies used by children and young people
  • Explore how children and young people can be groomed by the use of the internet.
  • Consider how agencies are responding to child abuse via the internet and individual roles and responsibilities within this.

Description

The aim of this course is to equip professionals to identify a child or young person’s activity online and some of the risks they are exposed to. This course provides a better understanding of the impact of social media, gaming and chat room apps and websites, as well as to explore ways of utilising tools and resources to help effectively engage children and young people.

You will gain an understanding of how the internet is used to exploit and abuse children and young people.

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.
